For a plastic-free paradise
Here’s a fact for you: One million plastic bottles are purchased every minute around the world. A million. Can you even begin to visualise how many bottles that is?
Now, here’s the scary part: Less than half of all those bottles are collected for recycling. And, of those collected, only an almost insignificant 7% are then turned into new bottles.
Where does all that plastic go?
Well, prepare yourself for the most shocking statistic of all: our oceans. Of the 10 to 15 million tonnes of waste that end up in our beautiful oceans every year, between 60% and 90% is made up of our plastic waste.
And the worst part?
Plastic production is set to quadruple by 2050. It doesn’t take long to realise that none of this looks good for the future of our planet. And if it’s not good for our home, it’s even worse for us.
Whichever way you look at it, this is complete madness.
there are things we can all do to stop this from becoming a reality, simple measures that anyone can take.
In the end it all comes down to three main concepts, commonly known as “The three Rs”.
